This year the splendidly well-organised Royal Show was blessed with fine weather and apparently attracted over 18,000 visitors! Quite how many of them made it to the Beekeepers tent I don’t know but there were certainly plenty of visitors. Young and old alike enjoyed the spectacle of the observation hive, admired the hive products and sampled the wonderful honey. The larger tent was light and airy and set off nicely by the knitted bees which got perhaps a bit too lively on Saturday due to the stiff breeze!

Many thanks are due to the volunteer exhibitors and stewards especially Jerry, David, Harry, Audrey, Ken and others for their hard work.  The ever popular Observation Hive (and contents!) were kindly provided by Esther and Norrie who also spent full days in attendance at the exhibit.

It was good to see the Isle of Man branch of Friends of the Earth espousing the cause for pollinators.  I expect Pete Christian found that Bee Suit a tad warm on the hot Friday!

As ever, Tanya’s wonderful blog post about the event is well worth a visit!
