The IOM Beekeepers Federation Honey Show and Convention will this year be held on Saturday the 12th November, with entries staging and Open Judging starting on Friday the 11th.
St. Johns Methodist Hall again provides the venue, and the Show will be Opened by Laurence Skelly MHK.  The Honey Judge for this 67th Annual Show is David Shannon; this will be his first time judging on the Island.  More details about David and his book “ A Comprehensive Guide to Preparing Exhibits for a Honey Show” can be found here.
Given his extensive knowledge and experience, the Open Judging will be well worth attending.
Last year, we only just managed to reach the minimum number of entries (101) to qualify for the BBKA Blue Riband prize, so please submit as many entries as you can in any of the Honey, Hive Products, or Confectionary Classes.
If you not entered previously, please do! It’s a friendly and welcoming event, and a fun day out in a charming venue.  In addition to the displays of Honey Show exhibits, there will also be displays (and prizes for) honey bee related artwork by the Brownies, Rainbows and Girl Guides.
